Rennscot MFG Leaps into the Metal Additive Manufacturing Space with the EOS M 300-4

05/16/2023

Massachusetts-based manufacturer expands its prototyping and industrial 3D printing capabilities across the medical, automotive, and aerospace industries.

Novi, Michigan, May 16, 2023 – Fast-growing production and prototyping manufacturer, Rennscot MFG, has jumped into the metal additive manufacturing (AM) space with its first direct metal laser solidification (DMLS®) metal 3D printer – the high-productivity EOS M 300-4. With the acquisition – combined with full end-to-end manufacturing capabilities that includes design, product development, prototyping, and production leveraging both traditional and 3D printing capabilities – EOS also announced Rennscot MFG as the newest member of its Service Provider network

Founded in 2017, Rennscot MFG has quickly evolved from a startup to a fast-growing design and manufacturing partner to multiple industries. Metal AM is a key growth area for the organization, and with the EOS M 300-4 – the most technologically advanced and productive system available – the company is expanding into new markets. The EOS M 300-4 provides a wide materials portfolio, and delivers up to 10-times higher productivity while achieving up to 50% reduced cost-per-part.

“After visiting EOS’ facilities in Germany, it was clear that an EOS machine was the right choice for us,” said David Bamforth, Rennscot MFG president and CEO. “This technology allows us to create complicated parts that couldn’t be produced using traditional manufacturing methods. Not to mention, this technology allows our customers to have a single source for highly complex additive parts that may also require post-machining.”

The EOS M 300-4 features:

•    Four 400w precision fiber lasers, and full-field overlap with multiple laser assignment possibilities
•    A build area of 300x300x400mm
•    Scan speed: up to 7.0 m/s (23 ft./sec)
•    Dual material recoaters that reduce the time between laser exposures, increasing productivity
•    An expanding family of available materials, that currently includes: EOS StainlessSteel 316L, EOS Aluminum AlSi10Mg, EOS Titanium Ti64, EOS MaragingSteel MS1, EOS NickelAlloy IN625, and EOS StainlessSteel 17-4PH

“We are pleased to welcome Rennscot MFG to the EOS additive manufacturing service provider network,” Andrew Snow, EOS North America senior vice president added. “Our network is dedicated to providing cutting-edge, high-quality 3D printing services to a wide range of industries, and we are confident that Rennscot MFG will be a valuable addition to our team.”

The purchase of Rennscot MFG’s first metal AM system is only the beginning of the company's industrial 3D printing journey. Rennscot MFG plans to continue growing its advanced manufacturing capabilities at its new Woburn, Massachusetts, facility, with room to further expand as business demands continue. Rennscot MFG plans to manufacture a variety of industrial applications using EOS Aluminum AlSi10Mg, EOS Nickel Alloy IN625, EOS Nickel Alloy IN718, and EOS Titanium Ti64 with the possibility to expand its material portfolio in the future.
